What's the most drastic change you've ever made to your appearance?

I'm sure a lot of people are going with a hair answer on this one....and so am I. When I was in college I got so tired of dealing with my long hair that i went home one weekend, went to my hometown stylist and asked her to chop it all off. She almost refused to do it, because it was a LOT of hair. it went from mid-back to above the shoulder in one slice of the scissors and i never regretted it. i've let it grow once or twice since then, and always come back to short, easy hair...i have even less time than in college to roll, comb, condition and genrally pamper long hair.
Show us something shiny.

is my favorite kind. that, or drink therapy...talk therapy not so much.
anyway, my latest therapy session was at a nifty little website called elisalou. If you love bags/purses/sacks, you're gonna love it! I love the fabric choices she has....I happen to be getting the large bucket bag (with the magnet closure) in red & yellow poppy with a cream interior. It's shipped and I can't wait to get it!
today is a gloriously sunny, crisp fall day. the boy is going to his grandma's today for the weekend (read silence in my home). i may even get some work done.
What is your favorite scent?

gardenia flowers still on the bush. when i was a little girl in florida, our neigher had a huge gardenia bush...to a little kid, it was really more like a tree, because it was much taller than i was. i would go every day to smell the flowers on the bush. such a complicated scent from a simple white flower.
i wish i could make plants live, because i'd try to keep a gardenia plant, but oh well....
i've got to decide if we're going to do the yard sale or not this weekend....eek! It's such hard work putting one together, but it would be so worth it to get that crap out of our garage! We have so.much.stuff. Really. We've never parked a car in our garage in the 5+ years we've lived in our house.
Tonight I'm having dinner with my great friend Shore. She and I haven't connected in a long time, even though we work at the same university, and really, just a few minutes walk from each other. She's moved, gotten a new boss, etc, etc. so tonight we play catch up. With wine and food! I'm tempted to suggest Amerigo's just for the artichoke cheese dip and toasts.
When I get home tonight Rob and I have to prepare for his parents to come over tomorrow. At least Rob's mom will be impressed with how clean my bathtub is thanks to my Magic Eraser. Love that thing. I don't want to know what's in it, but it works like a charm. Anyway, Dan (my FIL) is going to pressure wash our backporch! Woohoo! It's almost black and it's amazing how quickly it happens. As soon as he washes it, the hubs and I are going to seal it so hopefully it doesn't get so dirty again so fast.
I actually cut up some Basic Grey paper today. Holy smokes. I haven't done that in almost forever. BG is such pretty paper, and I generall have such a hard time using it because it's a little outside of my style, me being a bit more simple and graphic, but whatever. So I'm seriously beginning my series of pages inspired by the layouts in Ali Edwards' book, A Designer's Eye for Scrapbooking with Patterned Paper. And to start off with a bang, I used BG Urban Couture.....it's soooooo pretty. I'm not finished with the page, but I should be tomorrow and I'll post it then. It felt really good to actually use something that I've horded for so long! Imagine that!
Very nice shot. Thanks for sharing! read more
